First wave of P-8As departs Whidbey for Kadena

OAK HARBOR, Wash. (April 2, 2018) A P-8A Poseidon aircraft attached to Patrol Squadron (VP) 4 takes off from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island to conduct a regularly scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. VP-4 is a maritime patrol and reconnaissance squadron assigned to Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 10 and this occasion marks both VP-4 and Wing 10's first P-8A deployment following VP-4's platform transition from the P-3C Orion to the P-8A Poseidon aircraft between Sept. 2016 to May 2017.
