P-8A Poseidon plays vital role in Pacific Rescue

Three fishermen from Micronesia were rescued Tuesday, Feb. 20, after drifting for 8 days in the Pacific Ocean -- thanks to a Navy search coordinated by the Coast Guard.

The Boeing-built P-8A is equipped with an advanced APY-10 multifunction radar and MX-20 camera system, which was ideal for searching the 2,100-square-mile area.  The Boeing-built sub-hunter aircraft located the fishing boat after just 3 hours.  Read more about the SEARCH AND RESCUE.
