"The Long Way Home": A little-known but important wartime event in aviation history

Here's the amazing story of how a Boeing Pan American Airways Clipper (B-314 flying boat), caught in the South Pacific after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, made an unplanned, dangerous, and record-breaking flight home -- the long way (31,500 miles).  An astounding feat in 1941-42, mostly without maps and always without landing gear.

Watch this great VIDEO, which is the teaser for a longer documentary.  There's also a book about this voyage: "The Long Way Home" by Ed Dover.  You can find it with a Web search -- it's still available.
