This is a fun story.  A Navy Ensign thought he'd stay in the Puget Sound area, but -- oops-- was surprised with orders to Hawaii.  What to do with his new boat?  Here's how he solved the problem.

The Seattle-based Coast Guard Cutter Healy sits in the Chukchi Sea off Alaska July 29, during an Arctic deployment in support of scientific research and polar operations. Jim Creek Naval Radio Station, operated by the U.S Navy in Northwest Washington, has an output power of 1-million watts.  But you won't hear it on your home or car radio.  Learn about this important installation HERE.  And don't forget to look at the video! 

As you'll see in the Navy news release, NOPF Whidbey Island monitors sounds in the ocean. The work of this unit is an important element of national security, but details aren't made public (don't ask for a tour!).
