    Chief Warrant Officer Brad Jopling, Main Propulsion assistant aboard the Seattle-based icebreaker, is not only a great project manager.  He planned and carried out an emergency repair at sea, in a confined compartment being flooded by 28-degree sea water.  He has been awarded the Coast Guard's 2019 Stabile Award for naval engineering.  Read about CWO Jopling’s accomplishments in the AWARD CITATION.

    U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star departed Seattle Nov. 26 to break a resupply channel to McMurdo Station, Antarctica.  McMurdo is headquarters for the U.S. scientific mission on the continent, run by the National Science Foundation.  READ MORE.
